Shirley's Obituary
Shirley Ann Wondergem, 81, of South Haven died Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Harbors Health Care in Douglas, Michigan.
She was born November 9, 1926 in Owosso, Michigan to Floyd and Dorothy (McGinn) Schmid. . Shirley graduated from Owosso High School and Davenport College Secretarial School. She was employed in South Haven at System Components, Bohn Aluminum, South Haven Rubber Company, and Baars Printing Company. Shirley was a member of the Church of the Epiphany Episcopal Church of South Haven, and a volunteer of the South Haven Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards with her friends, visiting with friends at the bakery, and was very proud of her children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death along with her parents by a son – Tim Lawyer.
She is survived by one daughter – Karyl Lawyer of Satelite Beach, Florida, three sons - Doug Wondergem and Lisa Wickes of South Haven, Michigan, Brian and Angel Wondergem of Jacksonville, Florida, and Eric and Chrisi (DeVriendt) Wondergem of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Nine grandchildren – Jay and Maureen Lawyer, Maura Riney, Ivan Lawyer, Christopher, Kim, Keri Wondergem, Taylor, Leigha and Alexander Wondergem.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 20 from 2:00-3:00 P.M. at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin at 3:00 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with The Rev. Andrew Gross officiating. Burial will take place at the Church of the Epiphany Memorial Garden. Memorial contributions can be made to the Al Van Human Society.
