Heidi, I can not express how sorry I am for your loss. Your father was truely a great man. A gentle soul with a giving heart. He will be missed by so many but mostly by the two greatest loves of his life, your mother and yourself. I hope the memories he has left will fill your heart and never leave you lonely. To the Rockhold family- I worked with your father/husband in the mid 80's at Citizens Trust and Savings bank. What a joy. He was always so kind and friendly; and that smile everyday good or bad. I have fond memories of those days at the bank. He was truly a joy to work with and will be greatly missed in this community of South Haven if not already. With deepest sympathy Sabine Barthel-Callaghan

Where do we begin, dear Heidi, to reflect on Bill's life! What a man of integrity and righteous living! Always a man of grace, mercy, and love! Bill was a peacemaker. When we think of your father, here are some words that burn in our hearts: "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints" (Ps. 116:15). "The memory of the righteous will be a blessing" (Pr. 10:7). Your father is very precious and his memory a blessing! Our love and prayers, John and Marylin Bright

Edie...I was truly sad to hear of Bill's death. What a remarkable man he was and what great friends and neighbors you both were. I can still recall how supportive Bill was when Barb came to South Haven Area Hospice and how both of you were there for us when Barb became ill and then lost her struggle. He was such a positive thinker and brought out the best in all he came in contact with. I remember him getting me involved with the Hope choir and I enjoyed that time with him. My deepest sympathies...David Reicherts

Heidi, you have been in our thoughts and prayers so much today. Your dad was such a kind, caring man. He was always calm, cool and collected whatever the circumstances. What a great example of someone who walks closely with God. I have many great memories - starting from back in Kalamazoo seeing your dad and mom working in your beautiful backyard. Some of my early South Haven memories are visiting you in your house in Eaton Park. Your dad was always such a gracious host. When I told Mitchell about your dad, he said "I know him. He always shakes my hand really hard at Hope Church. He's cool." He included you in his prayers tonight. Please know that John and I will continue to keep you in our prayers in the days ahead. With our sympathy, John and Liz

Dear Edie and Heidi: I have nothing but Love in my heart for Bill. At this saddest of times I hope the reflections of his impact on others will fill your heart with the love and support it is given. He will always be the dearest man to me. His work with me at South Haven Hospice and support for improving care at the end of life will live on for years. He was a gardener. He grew friends where ever he sowed his time. GOOD FRIENDS ARE LIKE ANGELS, YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEE THEM TO KNOW THEY ARE THERE. Bill will always be with me as he is now in my sorrow. May God bless you both.
