I extend my sincerest condolences to Wendy and all of Gary's family. I was privileged to have Gary as my coach in football and wrestling in high school. He was a good man who cared about his student-athletes beyond the confines of competition. He positively impacted the lives of many. May God love him and keep him. I pray that all who mourn his passing will take comfort in the Promise of the Resurrection.

I want to wish the Steudle family my sincere condolences. Although I wasn't fortunate enough to have had Coach Steudle as a coach, I did have him as a teacher. He had a special gift of making class fun and had a wonderful sense of humor. As a young boy, I looked up to him as a coach not to mention the players he coached and influenced along the way. Your family, and the Ram family, lost a great man but the memories and lessons will never be lost. God bless you all!

I want to express my sympathy to Wendy and the family. Gary was always very good to me. My father coached with him in his football program. He was a great mentor to me as a S.H. student / athlete and many of my classmates and friends. I have nothing but great memories of him and his positive influence and direction. Gary taught us how to prepare to be winners and work as a team. Rest well coach.

Coach Steudle was a young assistant coach to Bob Feely during the 4 years I was manager of the football team. We always had fun, kidding each other, and he was just a positive person who really cared about all of us. Someone many of us will remember as significant, and blessed to have known. So sorry to hear this news.

I'm sorry to hear of Coach Steudle's passing.
I had him for several classes, and he was always "Coach Steudle" to almost everyone, even those that didn't have him as a coach. I remember in US History, there was a student that was being a bit obnoxious. Didn't phase coach at all. "Last name of student!" "Drop and give me 20." So, right there in History class, this student got out of his desk, dropped and did pushup's. :)
My dad had him as a teacher, also. Twenty years later, when I was a freshman in gym class, he recognized my name and asked about my dad. When passing in the hall, I'd hear, "Hinz! When does your dad need me to paint those bins (grain bins he had wanted to paint during the summer)?"
"Some guys came and painted them last summer, coach."
"Let me know next time!"
:)
15 years later, I saw him in Village Market. "How you doing, coach?" "Pretty good, Hinz, how are you?" I was always amazed that he would remember everyone.
I hadn't seen him in a while and have wondered where he was. I'm sorry to hear of his passing, but rest assured he will be remembered fondly by many people. He had an impact on many of us and will be missed!

I had the great blessing of being coached by Gary for 3 seasons in football and another 3 in wrestling. I'm very grateful for the impact of Coach Steudle on my life over those seasons. He was a fantastic, demanding and sincere leader who genuinely cared about his staff and players. His ability to shoot straight and lead with consistency were examples of his standards. God grant you eternal rest, Coach. In Christ, Dave Decker

Mr. Steudle was one of my all time favorite teachers, he didn't take any nonsense from students but he was fair. I remember the day he brought a 5X7 picture to me of my Dad when he played for Coach Steudle in high school. He told me I should have it. And then he met my children when I grew up, there aren't many teachers in life that see 3 generations.. His eyes & that smile always welcomed you to have a conversation with him.. Sending prayers to Wendy & the rest of the Steudle Family, he was a wonderful man and we are all blessed to have been touched by his legacy.

I'm deeply saddened to hear of Coach Steudle's passing.
I was privileged to have him as my high school football coach for two years. There is not enough space to share how God used him during trying times to fill a void in my life. His belief in me gave me confidence and hope. Because of his desire to reach out to me, my life was forever changed. May the God of peace and hope be with you.

My heart goes out to you, Wendy, for this great loss at this time.
I remember Gary mostly as my "boss" on the Teachers' Painting Crew
during the summers back in the sixties. He always made me paint the
high peaks, which, at the time, I didn't mind.
I hope he remembers the advice he gave me about how not to develop
a flabby belly. Gary, I'm still following that advice!
Gary was a great guy and should be truly missed.
