Cecil "Don"'s Obituary

Cecil “Don” Donald Ward, 79, of South Haven, died Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born August 3, 1934 to Elvey and Arlee (Scott) Ward in Butler, Georgia. Don served his country in the United States Air Force for twelve years during the Vietnam War. Don married Mary Franklin on December 22, 1956 in Columbus, Georgia. He worked as a mechanic supervisor the Palisades Nuclear Plant for 21 years until retiring in 1990. Don loved going to tractor shows. He was a member at the United Pentecostal Church of South Haven.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers – Charlie, Wardell and Clifford; four sisters – Evelyn, Bessie, Susie and Maudie.

Don is survived by his wife of 57 years – Mary of South Haven; son – Daniel Ward of South Haven; daughter – Rebecca (Clinton) Dellenbaugh of Stockport, Ohio; three grandsons – Eric and Nathan Ochsner and Lance Dellenbaugh.

Visitation will be from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Sunday, December 8, 2013 at the United Pentecostal Church. Funeral services will follow visitation at 4:00 PM at the church with Pastor Phillip Haner officiating. Don will be laid to rest at McDowell Cemetery in Casco Township at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 9, 2013. Memorial contributions may be made in Don’s memory to the United Pentecostal Church of South Haven.
