Allegra's Obituary

 

 Allegra E. Appleyard, 101, of South Haven, passed away at the Countryside Nursing and Rehabilitation Community on Tuesday, September 9, 2014. She was born February 7, 1913 to Frank and Olive (Huffman) Slee in South Haven. She married Richard Appleyard on June 3, 1934 in South Haven. Allegra worked at home as a photo retouch artist for the family photography business. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is preceded in death along with her parents by her husband – Richard Appleyard; brother – Duane Slee; sister – Alice Dangerfield :- twin sister Donna Slee.

Allegra is survived by three sons – Richard (Joretta) Appleyard of Kalamazoo, Edwin (Dorothy) and Michael (Mary Ann) Appleyard both of South Haven; daughter – Rhea (Bruce) Crowley of Danville, KY. Twelve grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren also survive.

Private family services will be held with Rev. Jeffrey S.
