Wags was a unique guy. We'll always remember his cheery whistle and humming, his little phrases and poems like "the sand was hot to Molly" and "cheery beery eidelwine" and "rye whiskey." See ya on the other side, Wags. I'm bringing rice.

Just wanted to share a few memories of Uncle Wags. He let Amanda and I watch Top Gun at his house, which to this day we still joke about because my mom did not approve of that movie for us at our age. And I have a strange memory of him and a thing he used to do to move his dentures around and wiggle a front tooth. For a younger kid like me at the time, it was so cool. For my 18th birthday, he made me a birthday cake with my nickname at the time, J.J. As I got older, he went out of his way to buy beer that I like whenever I was in town for family gatherings at his house. And of all the relatives, he liked the pink stuff I made more than anyone, probably because of all the Cool Whip in it. I have other random memories, but these are the ones that make me smile and laugh the most.

Wags was a great brother-in-law: always helpful, gave advice when asked, cooked the best 'better cheddars' and shared plants from his garden. Give Gus a pat on the head from me!

Many memories of the Michigan Ave. days. Badminton and birthday cakes among the best. Grace and peace to all of you.

I was so sad to hear of Wag's passing away. I saw him frequently walking or at the coffee shop; I will miss our encounters. He always had a smile and kind word for everyone and was truly one of the kindest and gentlest individuals I have ever known. I have a very fond memory of him regarding his first surround sound system and how much he loved the movie Top Gun. Until we meet again, rest in peace my friend! To Jamie, Chris and other family, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time; praying for God's peace and comfort for you all.
