Carl's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Carl here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
p.s. Not to take attention away from Carl, Evelyn spoke much of him (and her sisters) I'm aware that Carl had Evelyn's name tattooed on his arm (?) before he enlisted in the Navy .

gerard shea here , Massachusetts. Never knew Mr. Carl Smart, but adored his sister Evelyn in Carmel , who died 2 years ago this May. I adored Evelyn and only met one daughter, Barbara, and chatted much with Mary up in Washington (or Oregon) when she was chatting with Evelyn. Evelyn and I strew Barbara's and 1/2 of Mary's ashes down in BIg SUr. Was hoping I'd be the chosen one to scatter Ev's ashes as I knew of where we had a glass of wine down by the Hermitage where her daughter's ashes remain. In the event any of Evelyn's kin read this, much love from someone who unequicially loved her

Carl and Florene were our neighbors. He was always very helpful whenever someone needed a hand. I was very sad to hear of his passing. While there are no words that can take away your sorrow, please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. Sincerely, Chris, Nicole, Erica, mallory and Christopher May

Our condolences to Carl's family. He and Florene were two of the greatest people ever. Truly very representative of the "Greatest Generation"! He was very good friends with my late father for as many years as I can remember. I fondly remember as a child being down at my late fathers shop by the Black River and they were planning on building a 2 story raft to take across Lake Michigan to take down the Mississipi River for a two month cruise. They fabricated it and a large group took the trip of a lifetime. Every time my father and Carl got together they fondly related that story. Carl was truly a engineering genius! Our heartfelt condolences to all of you Marty and Joanne

Awesome person, great neighbors on Drs. Row. Carl put me to work for my first job at sixteen years old, cleaning the "shop". Hard to believe it was 50 years ago. Thoughts and prayers go out to Carol/Ron, Carl and Chuck. Thinking of you guys. Rodney and Vickie

One of a kind great man. He treated me like a daughter and my children like grand children. We kept in touch all these years and talked about having a beer together one day. Mr. Storr we will have that beer together some day. Carl, Carol and Chuck you are in my prayers.

Mr Storr was a kind, fine man who always treated myself and my father and mother (Bill and Sandy Babor) like family. I'll never forget all of the time spent as a child at his home on Lake Michigan. Our prayers go out to his family.
