Charles “Chuck” Louis Hill (Chaz)

February 1, 1933 ~ November 10, 2016

Chuck was brought home to his Lord and Savior on November 10, 2016 and is now in the comfort of His arms.

Chuck was born at home on Minkler Street in Iron River, Michigan.  He attended and graduated from Iron River High School.  He married Joanne Rucinski, June 9, 1954.  He married Joan Helene (Bunch) Hill on April 20, 1963 who preceded him in death, March 17, 2011.

Chuck was an avid sportsman and loved to fish and hunt, especially in the Upper Peninsula with family and friends.  He was also a great lover of baseball and softball while playing catcher and coaching.

He was the proud President of the United Auto Workers Unions Local 1210 while working at Bohn Aluminum.

He is survived by sister Norma Johnson and brother Jerry Hill.  Six children Debby (James) Sullivan of Greeley, Colorado, Steve Hill of Iron River, Michigan, John (Michele) Hill of Hemet, California, David (Linda) Hill, of Mazomanie, Wisconsin, Andy (Gina) Hill of New Baltimore, Michigan, and Tony Hill of South Haven, Michigan, and step-son Rod (Valerie) Sievers of South Haven, Michigan; along with grandchildren Laura Sullivan, Betsy (Michael Humphrey) Sullivan, Katie (Cody) Hinkle, Matthew Hill, Joshua Hill, Joseph Hill, Sarah (William) Weeks, Jacob Hill, Keesha (John) Wick, Charisse (Joe) Gehin, Shanelle Hill, Jarrett Hill, Hannah Hill, Michael Hill, Nicholas Hill, Andrew Hill, Jenna Hill, Drew Hill, Clint Sievers, Amanda Jane (Sievers) Day, and Mollye Sievers.   Great grandchildren Madison, Lauren, Jack, Kelsie, Lexi, Braeden, Wyatt, and Jayce, Braden, Parker William.

A family & friends service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home with visitation between 10 and 11 a.m. with a service at 11.  Another service will be held Monday, November 14, 2016 with visitation from 12 – 2 and service at 2 p.m.  Rev. Fr. Brian L.
Stanley will be officiating at both services.  Burial will take place at McDowell Cemetery.  A luncheon will follow at the Moose Lodge #697.
