Michael Charles Holt

Pastor Michael Charles Holt, 76, of South Haven, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2019 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born July 14, 1942 to Robert and Irene (Hale) Holt in Manila, Arkansas. He married Karen Ethridge on June 9, 1979 in Benton Harbor. Michael worked for Bohn Aluminum in South Haven for 30 years in South Haven in the Engineering Department and as a Supervisor. Michael presided over the Grace Apostolic Tabernacle Church in South Haven where he preached the Word of God for 19 years.

Michael was preceded in death by his siblings – Calvin, Allen, Buddy, Lester and Sissy.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years – Karen Holt of South Haven; children – Lee Holt of Holland, Michigan, Donnie (Jeri) Holt of Stevensville, Michigan, Jessie (Wendy) Holt of South Haven, Michigan, Randy (Lisa) Derrick of Riverside, Michigan, and Paula (Harold) Petty of South Haven; sisters - Robbie and Shirley Stone all of Manila, Arkansas; eleven grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, May 20, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Filbrandt Family Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 21, at 11:00 AM at Grace Apostolic Tabernacle (02401 67th Street, South Haven) with Pastor Michael Mead officiating. Michael will be laid to rest at Chambers Cemetery in Geneva Township.  Memorial contributions can be made to the church.
