Marilyn's Obituary
Marilyn Mae Miller, 90, of South Haven, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born August 10, 1928 to Edwin and Jessie (Johnson) Henthorn in Chicago, Illinois. Marilyn graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor’s Degree and later continued on to graduate from the University of Illinois with a Masters Degree. She taught high school and summer school in Hinsdale, Illinois for 25 years before her retirement. Marilyn enjoyed singing in the choir at the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church Choir in Naples, Florida where she was a member. Marilyn was a member of the Scott Club and SHOUT. She also volunteered her time at the Michigan Maritime Museum.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings – Barbara Lindstrom, Althea Weiss, and Lincoln Henthorn.
Marilyn is survived by her children – Gregory Miller, Mark (Susan) Miller, and Donald Miller (Richard Brandenburg); grandsons – Jeffrey, Stephen, and Mark; four great grandchildren – Riley, Lilah, Griffin and Finley.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2020 at the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida. Marilyn will be laid to rest at the Memorial Garden at her beloved Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church in Naples, Florida. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Marilyn’s memory to the Scott Club, 652 Phoenix Street, South Haven, Michigan 49090; SHOUT, P.O. Box 986, South Haven, Michigan 49090 or to the Michigan Maritime Museum, 260 Dyckman Avenue, South Haven, Michigan 49090.
