Rochelle was one of my favorite patients when I worked in registration at the hospital. Always with her smile, never ever did I see her without that smile. She will be missed.

It was the upmost pleasure knowing and working for Shelley, she will forever hold a special place in my heart. Shelley would light up a room with her smile. Shelley's family and the love she had for them was the most important thing to her. She was proud of them and it showed every time she spoke of any of them. She adored her husband endlessly and the memories they made together she will never forget. Hy loved making her happy as he said it was his job lol. He adored her back and gave her a great life she always told me. She was the greatest listener when needed and I learned so much from her that will never be forgotten. She was beautiful and had a beautiful soul to match. Thank you Shelley and thank you to her family for always treating me as family and making me feel welcomed and at home. Love you all!❤Rest easy beautiful❤

I’m very sorry to hear of your mothers passing. She ( and your father too) was a wonderfully kind and understanding woman. She was always so committed to her family and to her congregation. She will be missed by all who knew her!

David, Susan and Alan, I am sorry to hear of your mothers passing but I also celebrate her amazing life. I will always have great memories of the times I spent at your house (mostly in the basement hanging out with David) playing Ping Pong or Pool? Your mother and father were always welcoming to me which I never forgot.

Sue, I just saw the news. I am so sorry. But I feel very lucky that I stopped in to see your mom when I returned to the South Haven area. I shared with her some special memories. Your mom was and will always be a first-class lady, wife, and mother. Her actions have directly influenced my actions, thoughts, and beliefs. I will share with you one day how much she influenced me to be the best mom I could possibly be. That is what your mom leaves behind. I love her and will miss her. Dr. LaWanna Shelton Class of 1980

I remember hearing my parents, Max and Tedda Okun, speak so highly of your mom and dad. I moved away at the same time your mom made her home in South Haven. Many years later when my own family visited South Haven , your parents warmly welcomed us into their home for a holiday dinner. I met Shelly’s sister, Renee Greene, years later through a dear friend of mine . I have fond memories of those days with your family and remember what a lovely impression she made on the Okun-Gardberg Family. In loving memory, Fran ((OKUN) and Jerry Gardberg

I just saw this looking for another obituary. I am so sad to hear of Shelly’s passing. I had the privilege of having her as a client in my salon and a wonderful friend for many years. We sadly lost touch the last few years, as I now live out of state, though I thought of her OFTEN!! I have wonderful memories and mementos that we shared, and I will never forget our wonderful talks, the love and laughter we shared. My heart has yet another missing piece. RIP my sweet friend.
