River was a lovely, lovely person. He was my student one year at South Haven High School and I got to know what a creative and independent person he was. Even after that year River always spoke to me when we saw each other around school. He would tell me about his latest creative project. He was always creating and building. I felt he had great promise to be an innovative creator and couldn’t wait to find out what he would do as an adult. My deepest condolences to the family and friends of this fine young man. Such a tragic loss to them and the world.

River was a student of mine at Southwestern Michigan College. Although I only knew him a short while I will miss him. He was a kind, thoughtful and hardworking student. He often stayed after class for extra help and would always thank me for that help. A very polite and thoughtful young man. His parents should be very proud of the young man they raised. He will be missed by the instructors at SMC.

Always shy, always respectable, always smiled and made me feel comfortable for accepting you into my home, you fit in with our family with your long hair and your musically inclined artistic personality it was easy for me to accept that you were dating my daughter because whenever she was around you i seen the joy in her eyes.

I met him in a college class. We would always sit together in class. Every other day we had class together and I would buy cheese fries and a Pibb and always ate half and drink half and gave the rest to him. He was so silly and always brought a smile to my face. He was such an AMAZING friend. I appreciated him a lot and still do appreciate him. Miss him so so much 🥺

I remember the day he went to the high school to receive his certificate of graduation. He was so excited that he just ran over to me and was wearing the brightest smile and was going on and on about how happy he was that he had completed high school. He always made me laugh when he noticed I was upset, especially when no one else did. I’m so grateful to have known such an amazing young man. He will forever live in my heart.
