my dear friend, I am remembering all the good times we shared on the golf course, my long time golf partner, going out to dinner with our special group of friends, going to Detroit to watch the Bears & Lions play (this was such a great rivalry between us) & every year watching the Super Bowl together, surprising each with the feast we would make for just the two of us. I could go on & on about our life together. After I moved to Texas we didn’t see Each other much but when we did it was like no time had passed. Your heart and sense of humor was one of a kind & I’ve been honored to be your friend. Rest easy in Gods loving arms Tell Terry “Hi” for me & give him a hug 😍

Claudia was such a caring lady. In my time as a coach, teacher and administrator, no one cared for the students in our community more than she did. Kindness and caring followed her everywhere. Personally, I have lived a better life because of her gentle advice and support. She will be sorely missed.

I’ve known Claudia for over 40 years. She was my buddy. We met playing softball and became best friends. Scoop and I bowled, golfed, and worked together. I even took care of WW once in a while when he was a little guy. I learned to expect to be late if I was going with Claudia anywhere, but it was ok, it was just Claudia. She was a great lady and a beautiful soul. Claudia will be missed by everyone, especially me.

Walter and family, When one of our members passes, I send the obituary to all our classmates who have email. Some have left messages on this site, but many, many more responded to me and some to all our classmates with pleasant memories of your mom. Memories such as, " She was the first person I met at Lincoln School when I moved to South Haven in the third grade, and she was so kind to me." Others said, "She was a sweetheart, a kind soul, on my list of classy classmates, a fun golf partner, always a smile, and many more. When I last spoke to her she was so proud to tell me about her new grandson. We will all miss our Claudia. On behalf of the class of 1964 I offer our condolences.

To the family of Claudia Maddox, It was with great sorrow that I received the news of your loved one's passing. I knew Claudia from our early years as members of the Emmanuel Community Church Junior Choir and when we were both students in Sunday School classes taught by Mr. Kenneth Holland. We later reconnected when she returned to South Haven. I admired her greatly and as a teenager believed that I could achieve many of the things that she achieved like being on the Honor Roll in High School where she was a year ahead of me. She was a generous friend and role model -- my heroine. I am also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority who mourns the loss of my Delta sister. Peace be with you family - may dear Claudia rest in peace. Dr. Betty Brown-Chappell
