Al was a good friend back in the 60s. I'm so sorry to see he has passed.

Al Fanslau was a wonderful guy. Knowledgeable. Amiable. Great smile. We grew up as cousins on Willa Dr. He gave me some very useful business advice years ago when I started my textbook store. When I recently returned to St. Joseph we were able to enjoy, with his brother Fred, good conversation, cold beer, at the Silver beach pizza. These were happy times. What he loved most was his family, St. Joseph, and sailing. We are very sad and will miss him. RIP.

I was surprised to see that Al passed away. We were friends many years ago. We worked on different political races together with a group of friends. When my sons' father moved, Al took Scott camping & sailing. He was a wonderful friend to both of us.

I enjoyed my 7 years as a "part-time" salesman at the Schroeder Motor Mall, working with Al as the Honda sales manager from 1997-2004. Al was a man of few words, but I could always count on him to get the vehicles my customers wanted and needed. He did this unselfishly, not expecting praise or recognition for doing his job. And yes, occasionally we enjoyed a cold Miller Highlife together after a successful sales day at the Schroeder Motor Mall! RIP my friend!
