I counted it as an extra blessing when I would go somewhere and run into Bette. She was always so friendly and truly interested in my life. Of course, all this catching up would make our chance meeting quite time consuming because she had a large family and mine was growing. Bette never seemed to age. Maybe she kept young because she had so many relatives to love, to be with, to laugh with, to have fun with, and to think about and remember past times with. I will miss her. After all those chance meetings have gone on for 60 years.
