Derek had my back all the years I taught at Countryside. It was a always beautiful to see him with Lily, and to watch her grow (taller than I am now, for sure!). I don't have words to express the sorrow and sympathy I feel. So, in Loving Memory of Derek A. Nestich, I sponsored a Memorial Tree. This tree will provide oxygen for 4 people annually. It live and grow and help make the world a better place, just like Derek did. He and you will continue to live in our hearts and prayers.

Jodi & Lily - My heart hit the floor when I saw that Derek is no longer with you. I did not know Derek, but I have a very sweet memory of him from when we were drumming. He entered the gym, walked right up to you, Jodi, and laid a sweet kiss on you. He obviously loved you very much and was not afraid or embarrassed to show it in front of everyone. I know that you will carry that love with you forever. Please know that my prayers are with you.

Jodi and Lilly and family-
Derek and I worked together at Countryside for 17 years. He always had he best interests of students in mind. He was a tireless encourager of kids and just wanted them to try their best on the field and in the classroom. I am proud to call him my friend. His death will leave a hole in many people's hearts and he will be missed. Rest in peace my friend.... Eternal rest grant unto him and let perpetual light shine on him.
