Donald's Memory Wall
We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Donald here, so that the family and other loved ones can always see it. Share your favorite stories or comment on those shared by others.
Don, we first met at LWF at the airport and later shared precious time on the patio in St. Joe near Lake Michigan beautiful bluff (2023). Humbled to be a lifetime member of LWF, we will all strive to carry your extraordinary hard work forward. Very respectfully, Paul Snyder

Don came to Lafarge cement terminal on the St.Joseph river 3 or 4 times monthly. He was very interested in the business and the vessel's that came into the port. I am a life member of Lest We Forget and am very proud of all the members especially Don. I was an Airman in the USAF Don treated me as a friend and colleague. We traded stories from everything from the service to family. I could see the light in his eyes when he would tell me stories of his family. Very proud man and our country was proud to have him. I'll miss my friend.

My prayers and thoughts are with the Alsbro family. I met Don at a Vietnam Vet gathering some years ago, as I am a Vietnam Vet (Army Nurse). He did so very much for so many people, including his work for Lest We Forget. His Heavenly crown has many jewels, and he was loved by many.

It’s hard to believe… Don is no longer with us. He was such an inspiration to his fellow patriots. God called him home and he truly fought the good fight…. Serving his nation, his fellow man, and also as a loving head of his family. Sharon, our condolences to you and your family…. Please know how much Don was respected and loved by his friends and fellow veterans and peers! My personal memory of Don’s encouragement to me started in the Lest We Forget organization many years ago and our “journey” of the many great experiences we had, including our trip to the Whitehouse for the MOH Ceremony of James McLoughan. What a priceless opportunity Don gave me. Don always reached out to people; encouraging inclusiveness and participation. He was truly a world class individual that placed God and country first…. A model life for all of us to live by!

My deepest condolences to the Alsbro familiy on their loss. Don was a lovely human. I got to know him through his work with Lest We Forget. I always enjoyed talking with him about the next project he was working on for them. He was a tireless advocate for the preservation of our communities service history through LWF and it was a privilege to have known him.

My condolences to the family. I got to know Don when I audited Badminton at LMC and then played a couple evenings a week and took part in tournaments. His enthusiasm for exercise and fitness helped me expand my attitude toward teaching Physical Education.

It was a pleasure and an honor to know Don and experience his work with Lest we forget. We will remember him and his family fondly as part of our special time here in the St Joseph area. As a fellow Bronco!

What a career! As a student at LMC in the early 70’s I remember Don well as an avid-competitive badminton opponent, teacher and promoter of fitness. So sorry to hear of his passing. Praying fond memories bring the family peace.
