Edward Charles Peterson, 92, of Benton Harbor, MI passed away on Tuesday – January 11, 2022. Arrangements have been entrusted to Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home – 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph, MI.
Edward was born on April 12, 1929 in Duluth, MN to the late Edward and Ruth (Johnson) Peterson. On April 12, 1958 in Duluth, MN he married Frances Hoch; she preceded him in death on October 22, 2021. Ed enjoyed traveling around the country with Fran in their motor home. They also enjoyed spending time at their cottage on Magician Lake. Ed loved grouse hunting, fishing, and working on cars and electronics. He loved his family and did anything he could to help his children.
Ed is survived by his children – Kris Petlick of St. Joseph, David (Leslie) Peterson of Downing, WI and James (Lisa) Peterson of Dowagiac, MI; a daughter-in-law – Marcia Peterson of Dumfries, VA; eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents – Edward and Ruth Peterson, his wife Frances, son Richard “Pete” Peterson, and sisters Elizabeth Brazerol and Patricia Peterson.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday – January 13, 10:30am, at St. Bernard Catholic Church – 555 Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor, MI, with Father James Adams officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Visitation with the family precedes the service from 9:00am-10:00am at Starks & Menchinger Funeral Home.
