Julie's Obituary
Julieanne (Julie) Gersonde Little, our dear mother, died peacefully on Tuesday, December 3 at Caretel Inn, St. Joseph, just two days after her 95th birthday.
Julie was born December 1, 1929 to the late William and Clara (Elgas) Gersonde. She graduated from Cedar Lake Academy in 1947 and attended Emmanuel Missionary College where she met her future husband Maynard Little. They were married in 1951. Together they owned and operated Maynard Little Painting until his death in 1994.
Julie graduated with a degree in Nursing from Lake Michigan College in 1978. She worked as a Registered Nurse at Lakeland Medical Center on the surgical floor and Pre-op until 2010 at the age of 80.
Her son Mark was her loving caregiver in the last years of her life. Julie was a member of the Stevensville Seventh Day Adventist church. She loved sharing her faith at Caretel by singing, with one of her favorite songs being “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam”.
She leaves behind her three children, Pamela Reed, Mark Little and Melissa (Sean) Reavie; grandchildren Megan and Kaitlin Reed, Breann, Brittany and Bryce Bauman; great grandchildren Ethan and Tucker Reed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Maynard, siblings James and William Gersonde and Kathryn Kempf.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 Friday, May 2, 2025 at the Stevensville Seventh-day Adventist Church, 6657 Stevensville-Baroda Rd., Stevensville, MI 49127. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M., Friday at the church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Amazing Facts International, PO Box 1058, Roseville, CA 95678 or 3ABN – Three Angels Broadcasting Network, PO Box 220, West Frankfort, IL 62896.
