Dear Julie, thank you for our friendship at Lakeland hospital from 1979 until you retired. You were a good nurse and a mentor to me on the surgical unit. You also shared your wonderful vegetarian recipes which I have used to this day. Rest in peace my friend! 🙏

To my Precious Aunt Julie, I’ll remember you When I walk the beach and see a perfect starfish at my feet, For this is what God gave to you when you requested a sign that His promises are true. I’ll remember you Every year on my birthday, because you never missed remembering and sending a card that made me feel loved. I’ll remember you Every time I see an Amtrak train and reminisce about the time you and Mom thought it would be a great experience for Pam, Val and I to take our first train ride from Durand to Benton Harbor. I’ll remember you In my treasured memories of Michigan Camp meetings, with music wafting from the Auditorium and all of us sitting together in front of our tents visiting with friends as they passed by…a tiny glimpse of heaven. I’ll remember you Every time I hear a melodious voice because you and Mother always sang so beautifully together, like a sampling of the heavenly chorus. I’ll remember you Every time I drive past where I received my only Speeding Ticket when you, Mom and I,…..with my heavy foot, were feeling blessed and carefree, driving and singing our hearts out to our favorite Christian songs…until we noticed the flashing lights behind us. You and Mom so valiantly tried to explain the momentary lapse in judgment which had just occurred, pleading for leniency to the officer on my behalf, but to no avail. I'll remember you And all our fun escapades because you and Mom were always up for an adventure whether in Michigan or Florida I’ll remember you When I think about your kind heart and generosity such as when you had a surprise graduation party for me upon receiving my Nursing degree. I’ll remember you and how Impressed I was by your spirit and fortitude when you graduated Nursing School with perfect grades in your adult life, all while working and being a wife and mother. I’ll remember you When things in life seem too painful to bear, and then I will recall the image of you in the dim light, on your knees praying without ceasing through the night for God’s help and mercy in a distressing and heartbreaking time. I’ll remember you Every time I laugh so hard I cry, because you and Mom taught me to treasure the humorous moments in life, for they will help you endure the difficult ones. I’ll remember you For being the very best Aunt in every way to Bobby, Val and I. I’ll remember you and your beautiful smile every time I sing “Jesus Wants Me for a Sunbeam.” I’ll remember you Each time I pray to be more “Christ like”, because you lived it by example. I’ll remember you for not only being my Aunt but also my dear friend who I loved dearly. I’ll remember you Until Christ’s joyful return when our family is together again in heaven and there are no more earthly goodbyes or farewells. I’ll remember you Always. Your loving niece, LaVonna Beth

Aunt Julie to me and my siblings. What wonderful memories I have being one of your kids well into my 40th years. It was always a little catch up pink tea, sitting down to talk & listen to how everyone was doing. So proud you were of your children & families who were your world. You will be missed yet, resting with your angel is the place for you. May Jesus come soon for the reunion of His children. I know I speak for all my family in saying God Bless & God speed dear heart. Much love, and arms around the neck. The Bergez girls….
