Nancy M. Hamilton, 83, of St. Joseph, passed away, Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Pine Ridge Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Stevensville.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 11:30 A.M. Friday, April 25, 2025 at Starks & Menchinger Chapel, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph with Dr. Kevin McFadden officiating. Friends may visit with the family Friday from 10:30 until 11:30 at the funeral home. Memorial donations in Nancy’s name may be made to Children of Promise or First Church of God-St. Joseph. Nancy was born July 31, 1941 in Detroit, MI to William & Clover Kelley. She graduated from Lutheran High School East in Harper Woods, MI class of 1959. She went on to earn a Bachelor Degree from Reformed Bible College in Grand Rapids and a Masters in Social Work from Andrews University. Nancy was employed for many years as a counselor at Southwest Michigan Medical Clinic as well as working as a supervisor in surgery scheduling for Great Lakes Eye Care. On September 10, 2016 she married Lawrence “Larry” Hamilton in St. Joseph. Their time together was very short, as he passed away October 4, 2017. Nancy was a member of First Church of God in St. Joseph where she had many friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Nancy is survived by her children-Andy Tripp of Arlington Heights, IL, Kristine (John) West of Grand Rapids, MI; six grandchildren-Elisabeth Tripp, David Tripp, Rachel (Christopher) Stockman, Emma West, David West & Ava West; one great-grandson Theodore Stockman; her siblings-David (Linda) MacDonald of Clay, MI & Kathleen Kelley of Center Line, MI, brother-in-law Gary (Beth) McFadden; and several nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Ernest Tripp in 2004, her parents-William & Eleanor Kelley & Clover & John MacDonald, her sister Margaret McFadden and her niece Kelley Lee.
