My thoughts and prayers continue to be with you. I was awed by the reverence and respect that was shown for Sammie at the gathering before the service - it was truly touching for the regard that this man was held. He certainly made the community a better place to be and will be missed.

To The Family, This family was a god sent for me. I was a friend of Mr. Smith daughters and Charase. I stayed many nights at their house on Highland. Sending my prayers and condolences to Leontyne, Jolita and Charase as well as the entire family. Love you all ❤️🙏🏽 Rest in Power Sammie Smith.

The Smith Family, I had the pleasure of working with your father Mr. Sammie Smith I got my first job working with him at the Housing Commission. Mr. Sammie was so knowledgeable and I glad I got to know what a wonderful person he was. Even though there is joy in the homegoing, there is sorrow in your loss. Thinking of you at this tender time. I've known Sammie for years Had lots of good times keeping score for the guys during their golf tournaments.
