I was very saddened to hear this news. I will always have fond memories of Dr. Bonnette. He was our superintendent for many years at D96 and truly made everyone feel like family. Sending condolences to his family and loved ones.

I met Dave at his Superintendent interview visit at Ames School District 96. As I listened to his voice I had to ask him if he was Tom Bodett (he was the voice for Red Roof Inn). βWe will leave the lights onβ. They sounded so similar and they were both from Mi.. Dave was the most professional gentleman. He was always respectful of everyone. He always knew how to respond to every question that was posed to him (adult or child). Dave Bonnette was a AAA plus to District 96 and a good friend . I feel blessed to have known Dave and his family.π

Many fond memories. Dr. Bonnette visited our Blythe Park Kindergarten every year to sample our stone soup and to bring his wooden shoes to tell the story of St. Nicholas. The children enjoyed him as much as he enjoyed them. He was very supportive.

I was hired by Dr. Bonnette and worked under his leadership for 9 years. He was an extraordinary leader that cared for his administration, teachers, staff, students and community. Wishing you all much love and peace.

As a superintendent, Dave Bonnette cared for his students, trusted his colleagues, respected district parents, and included all stakeholders. I had the pleasure of working with him for six years. In all that time, he consistently demonstrated what a trustworthy, competent and decent man he was. I am certain he will be missed.

The Board and Staff of the Riverside Public Library extend their deepest sympathies. Dr. Bonnette was so generous in his support of the Library and the renovation. We are proud to have the Dr. David Bonnette Teen Room to carry on his memory.

I am very sad to hear about Dr. Bonnetteβs passing. He was the most involved superintendent that I ever had. Dr. Bonnette truly wanted to know his staff, his parents and his students as well. He knew many of the kidβs names! He was always there for our 2nd grade events, too. We could tell that it broke his heart to tell Mrs.Margolis and I, βNo More Pet Days!β, after a growling incidentβ¦ I will remember him fondly.

I was saddened and surprised to read of Daveβs passing and pray God will comfort you Louise and your family in your grief. Dave was a truly kindhearted and wise Superintendent. As a parent of six children in Districts 96 and 208, I thought he did especially well for us in Riverside, and when he stepped in at District 208 too! Thank you for sharing him with us. His heart of compassion for all students and planning to benefit everyone was genuinely recognized.

Louise and family, I was shocked and saddened to hear of Daveβs passing. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Dave (Dr. Bonnette) was one of the most fair minded, knowledgeable, caring administrators I have ever had the privilege of working under in District 96. He was a regular visitor in our classrooms, connecting with faculty and students. A gentleman in all things. He will be greatly missed.

Please know that my thoughts are with all of you at this very sad time. Dave was the finest administrator I have ever known and more importantly, he was one of the best people I have ever known in my life and it was a privilege to be able to call him a friend. Daveβs kindness, intellect, and desire to always do the right thing made an impact on me that will never be forgotten. Nor will he.
