Dear Beth, Bill, and all who love Becky,
Laura and I had the pleasure of teaching Becky when she was in 1st grade for Sunday School. She was a stand out student. We grieve with you over your loss.
Love,
Bill and Laura Shaffer

I worked with Becky in Washington DC for the last number of years as a fellow advocate for foster youth and vulnerable children waiting for adoption. Becky was a deeply committed and savvy leader in a tumultuous political world. She worked doggedly on behalf of a "constituency" that has no inherent political power, yet she convinced countless lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to prioritize their well being and success. She will be sorely missed, but her legacy will endure.

Becky meant a lot to me in DC. She was always a reminder of home, even when I wasn't in Michigan. She understood my homesickness more than anyone. She was a beautiful representation of Christ and I am thankful to have known her. I loved her leadership in high school in Fellowship of Christian Students and was happy to reconnect with her in DC. Thinking of you all during this time.
