My deepest sympathy to your family. While I didn't know Lynne well, I recently interviewed her to work for me in Traverse City. Lynne was at the top of our list of candidates. She was bright and a very warm person and it was obvious that she loved her entire family. I am so sorry for your loss. Sincerely, Mary Barker

Sending you all my sympathies. I have been so sad since hearing this news. Lynne was a good friend in high school, but when we all moved away, we lost touch. She always held a special place in my memories, and will continue to do so.

I am so sory to realize the loss of dear friend. Lynne was my college roomate and sorority sister at SMU. We bonded from the day we met and I cherished every good time with her. I also looked up to her as my big sister. Im really saddened to realize that God has taken her so early. I will never forget the good times we had and was blessed to be so close to her beautiful family. She will missed by all her friends and we will all miss her beautiful smile. Love Jenny

Today we are here to celebrate the life of Lynne Carroll. Lynne was more than my best friend of 25 years. In many ways she was the big sister I never had. Affectionately, she referred to me as her brother. Therefore, It is a privileged today for me to honor her memory with all who knew and loved her. Lynne had many accomplishments. She spent 20 years as a human resources executive. Most notably she held positions at Robert Half International, Microsoft, and Bank of America, where she was a corporate Vice President. Lynne earned a B.A. in Political Science from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, and went on to earn an MBA from the University of Phoenix. Moreover, she was the first person in her immediate family to receive a graduate degree, a fact of which she was extremely proud. She used to say that her grandfather, “Pup-up”, and grandmother, Marmer, would be so proud of her. And, I’m sure they are. In her personal life, Lynne was a great lover of nature and the outdoors. She was an animal lover and avid sportswoman. With her beloved Labrador, Buddy, she loved to walk, hike, or play at the beach. Together we shared a love of adventure, and Lynne was almost fearless in her pursuits. She loved to ski, water raft, and mountain bike. Although contrary to her natural athletic ability and stature, Lynne had a very warm, sensitive, and home loving side. She enjoyed cooking, decorating, gardening. Her love of flowers led her to floral design school, where she learned to refine her passion for arranging. She always spoke of her true desire to one day have her own floral shop. More than anything, Lynne had a magnetic personality. Anyone who knew her, knew that she could be so much fun. Over the years, I remember countless hours of intense laughter. She had a flair for drama, and loved to try to get me going. She used to say: “come on kid, laugh!” When Janie and Peggy asked me to give her eulogy I was concerned that I might not be the best person for this task. However, upon reflection, I realize I am likely the only person who could do this for her. And so, I believe she would want me to be her voice, and share her feelings with you all today. Please, bear with me: Janie: She used to tell me how proud she was of you. She said that you were a good mom. Further back, she marveled at your appearance and thought you were so cute. I think she often felt she was too tall. But, she used to tell me; Janie’s like a little doll. She often called you a “China Doll”, because she thought you were so perfect. Jeff: Your sister loved you so much…there was an inexplicable bond between you. She almost considered you her child. She used to tell me how much she loved you as a baby, and how she was like your little mom. Affectionately, she went on to explain how she took care of you. She never forgot that! As a result, she always had a special place in her heart for you. Remember how she used to take care of both of us? And what fun we had! Peter: You were her favorite cousin as a young adult. I remember when you would visit the Canterbury house, and Lynne would be so excited for you to arrive. She was so happy for you and Suzie, she would tell me “Peter found his soul-mate”…she just thought you two were so adorable. Aunt Bev: She always told me how much she loved you and how much fun you two had together. Aunt Pat: Lynne was so excited to see you in Traverse City, the first thing she did was call to tell me all about it. Aunt Mary Lee: John Carroll always told me that in spite of what ever happened between he and Peg, his sisters loved Lynne, Jeff, and Janie. You and all the Carroll family sure proved that. Your love and devotion to Lynne meant the world to her. The last months of her life she told me that you were her best buddy. She truly loved you all. Mary Lee, Shelia, Chrisie, Colleen, and Johnathan. Peg: If Lynne got her love of animals, the outdoors, and athletics from her father; she certainly got her love of flowers, cooking, and decorating

My heart goes out to my husband Jeff and his family for their loss. Although Lynne and I never met we spent countless hours on the phone as well as her many conversations with her neice my daughter Emily. We clicked from the first time we spoke and were both so happy to be sister in laws. We were so excited to finally meet her in person over Christmas unfortunately the trip to Florida was postponed and then her life was cut short. She was always kind, patient, and had so much insight on things we would discuss. She was a great support system to me thru the past 4 years.I will miss her very much and am so sorry Emily and I never got the chance not to meet her in person. We will miss her dearly and loved her very much and wish her eternal peace and happiness.

Dear Lynne,
It's taken me 18 months to actually acknowledge that you are no longer with us. Although I was with you for your last breath that is not how i want to remember you. You were such a beautiful person inside and out. I just wish you believed it. I'm so sorry that I was not there to help you finally realize how gifted and talented you were. I am very proud to be your sister and pray that you will continue to rest in peace. You deserve external happiness. xoxox Janie

Lynne,
May your heart and soul rest in peace. You were the love of my life so many years ago. In this heart you have never and will never be forgotten. I am so sorry I can not look into your eyes and tell you how much I loved you and have missed you for so many years - it broke my heart that we had to go our separate ways. Forever in love with you.

To my first born daughter,Lynne Marie Carroll,
It has taken me 3 years to believe that you are gone and in God's care. I miss you terribly and will always remember the good times we had. I cherish every card you sent to me. My only regret is that you lived so far away. The statue we have in South Haven in your memory is a small tribute to my love for you. You will never be forgotten and loved dearly. Rest in peace dear daughter.
All my love forever,
Mom
