I worked with Monique at Coats & Bennett in Cary, NC. She was such a lovely young woman who I will miss dearly. My heart is broken. I can't imagine her family's loss.

My deepest condolences to the family of this wonderful woman. I worked with Monique at VR Tech when she first moved back to Holland. Such a fun loving lady. I did not see her often after she left VR Tech, but was blessed enough to see her the week before her passing. We hugged and chatted at the basketball game and caught up with each others lives. Monique will be greatly missed

I worked with Monique at VR Tech and she was an amazing woman. Alex and my daughter Angie would play in the gym together while they were waiting for their mom's to get done working. Monique had a great attitude and was hilarious and I would be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that Monique had incredible taste in shoes! Miss her already.

I met Soror Monique Powell this past year and immediately I found her to be a very beautiful & giving sister with a smile that could light up any room! She was a classy christian woman who dedicated her life to givng and helping others. I know that you touched the lives of all your family, friends, community the ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and all who knew you. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. We will miss you. You truly had a "heart that was loyal and true!" Rest in peace Soror Powell! May God bless your family.

Monique's dedication to her son, family and helping students was inspiring. I feel so blessed to have known her and work with her at Destination Education. She told me on several occasions how proud she is of Alex, and what an amazing person he is. My heart and prayers go out to Monique's family and all who are grieving for her loss. She will be missed.

I would like to extend my most sincere condolences to Monique's family. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I had the pleasure of going to junior high and high school with Monique. She was always so smiley and quite the character. Gone far too soon but how she touched so many lives. Find comfort in her amazing memory and blessings to you all.

My heart goes out to all Monique's family and friends for this terrible loss. Through Destination Education, I had the chance to work with her and I will always remember her for her passion, care and dedication in helping young people make their dreams for college and career a reality - as well as being a gracious colleague, a thoughtful friend and a woman of faith. Most of all, she was such a loving mother - it was clear that Alex was her pride and joy - her face lit up with love whenever she saw him or talked about him. It is so hard to comprehend that she is gone so suddenly - she will be deeply missed by all of us who were blessed to know her.
