Dear Horan Family
It has been an honor and priviledge to serve both Barb and Tim over the years. It was also great to see Tim just last week and he was looking "squared away" As a former Marine and friend, I cherished every conversation I was able to have with him. Semper Fi Tim

My first thought upon hearing of Mr. Horan's passing, was one of sadness...but that changed to gratitude and a smile. My family and I along with Charlie Tunecke, were blessed to have known him for decades. What a wonderful, positive, upbeat person he was. A friend to so many of us, no matter the generation ! He truly cared about you.....And you never left his company without a smile...what a zest for life !
When the grieving wanes, the myriad of memories will last forever.

Horan family please accept our deepest condolence during this sad time. One of the last of the greatest generation has past on and I am personally affected by "Big Tim's" passing. That is what I called your father my whole life and we had many encounters as he has influenced many of my attitudes towards life and friendships. From the time as a youth spending the night at Camp Kennedy and having a horse step on my foot to spending time with your Dad fishing in Sebastian, Florida and going to see some ball games down in Sarasota, FL he was always there with a stunning smile and a twinkle in his eyes. A real mans man that was always ready to share an act of kindness. He will be missed but never forgotten as his spirit of Love and Kindness shines on.

TIM HORAN as a Marine was a member of the "Great Society" that kept our country safe during World War II . Uncle Tim was a relative, but more than that he was a 'Buddy'! We spoke at least once a month to catch up with family and how the standard bred race horses were doing. He loved the horses and I know that St. Peter will have a spirited two year old trotter waiting for him as he arrives at the "Golden Gate"! It is with great sympathy that we are praying for the entire HORAN family. May he rest in peace. Joe /Louise McCann

My condolences to all Teds family, and especially those I have known so well but haven't seen for quite some time. Ted called me a few months ago and sounded so upbeat I can't believe he's not with us now but in a better place. He's up there with his green hat and green beer doing whatever for us left below.

Tim, Jim, Mike, Brian and Families,
We were so sorry to hear of your Dadβs passing! Your Father was one of the kindest men I ever had the honor to know throughout my life. He would go out of his way to stop and talk and had that contagious smile. A couple of years ago while my Mother in law was in the nursing home your Dad was there for a short period of rehab. I told Cheryl lets go say hi to Mr. Horan. When I went in the room he was taking a nap in a chair and we tried to sneak out without waking him. Well he woke up with that smile on his face, and we talked for sometime about all the fun him and my Dad and their buddies had over the years. There he was healing and all he talked about is how great my Dad was and how he missed him and how hard it must be for our family. That was Mr. Horan always so outgoing and caring for others. As we left that day he gave me probably one of the best complaints I have ever gotten when he told me you donβt just sound like and look like your Dad , your just like him. I still hold that close to my heart! Our prayers and thoughts are with you all in this difficult time.

Dear Horan Families,
I am so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I know he loved you all with a huge Irish heart and he will be dearly missed by everyone. It is not ever easy but I know the Memories will help to heal the pain. Mr. Horan always had a twinkle in his eye that each of his children share. I smile knowing he is reunited with your Mom and all of his old SH pals. If I could I would be there for the funeral and to give each and everyone of you a big hug.
Love always, Kate (Kick) & Mark Krenn

Your father was such a wonderful man with an Irish twinkle in his eye. He has left such a wonderful family, his legacy. I new him as kind, generous, fun loving and hard working. I know you will all miss him very much, but for so many years he gave the gift of himself to you and that will live on.

To all Tim's Children & Family's, Some of you we have never had the pleasure of meeting as we came into Tim's life about 35-40 yrs ago & four of you had all ready gone out on your own, We were the ones that got to be around him when he was enjoying the Horses. Going to the races & fair's with him. Mr. Tim sure did love watching his horses run.......He had so many friends that loved him at the track with his BIG smile & strong hand shake.......... About 2 yrs. ago he called & said he had a mare that he wanted to give to me cause I did such a good job with the one before I said " TIM that was 40 yrs ago!!" Well when I found out he fell in the stall with her we went & picked her up I told him she would learn to ride & I would try to get her bred which we did & 1 yr. ago she had a pretty stud colt on the Kentucky derby day so his nickname was 'DERBY" His caregiver Vicky brought him over to see him & he was a proud as a peacock... I told him when he gets registered his name would be "TIM'S LAST TREASURE" Your father was a GREAT MAN & FRIEND...........He will be missed everyday, but the memories we all have will last forever...

Uncle Tim was special in so many ways. My thoughts and prayers are with all our family asking for peace and comfort. We remember great things about him. He loved his horses but even more he loved people and that was so apparent in his actions. Life will not be the same but what beautiful times at family gatherings and all the fun he gave each and every one of us!

Deepest sympathy to the Horan family. My favourite times were spent as a kid hanging around the barn seeing the horses. My grandparents cottage across the street was our weekend get away. Visits weren't complete with out coming to see Aunt Barb and Uncle Tim. I still can see the scar on my hand from the barbed wire fence ( I cut myself reaching over to pet the horses). My biggest moment was when I got to go for a ride in a helicopter he had I think it was Fourth of July one year. He will always live in your hearts as he most certainly will in mine xxx - Carleen
