We always liked teaching with Dave. He had standards that were applied with a great deal of humor and a personal touch. I took over one of Dave's classroom mid year when I first began teaching at Central and it was obvious to me that his students appreciated his good nature and they were an orderly group for the "new guy." He will be missed.. RIP David and condolences to Grace, Mike, Kate and his extended family.

He was also my journalism teacher in middle school - I'm remembering his as a very nice and fair teacher, which probably wasn't always easy to be with holigans of that age, what a blessing he was. May his family find some comfort in memories of him and find peace knowing he is surely rejoicing with those he loved that went before him.

David Paull, my heart is heavy over the loss of you. Thank you for your decades of dedicated and courageous service to South Haven government. Thank you for being a mentor and a friend. This city should name a street, at the very least, after you. My heart goes out to Grace and the family. I will never forget you and I will always hold you in the highest regard.

Dear Grace and Paull Family, I was saddened to read of Dave's passing this afternoon. He was such a inspiring and fun person and teacher. I have very fond memories of Mr. Paull being my journalism teacher in jr. high. He was such an asset to the community. We are praying that you are comforted to know he is no longer suffering and is in heaven with our lord.

To Dave's Family.... Dave and I worked together at WJOR Radio, (COSY), in the very beginning of our careers in the late 60s. He was a guy who genuinely cared. A good, moral man. South Haven will miss him. Barry Shanley

Dave was such a devoted husband and father. Dave also loved South haven and devoted many hours making south haven a great place to vacation as well as live in. I will miss walking by his house and stopping to chat with him wile he used to sit on his porch enjoying the beautiful weather. Sending prayers to the Paul family to help them during this sad time in their family.

Dave will be sorely missed as an advocate for the city. I'm glad I got to know him since working at City Hall . . . he truly wanted the best for the City of South Haven and spent many years of service towards that end.. My sincere sympathy to the Paull family and closest friends who will miss him most.

Dave Paull was one of South Havenβs best. I knew him as a tremendous teacher who related well to students at least partly because he treated us with respect. He was always constructive with his criticism ,yet generous with his praise. He signed my seventh-grade yearbook βTo the first real columnist Iβve ever had,β a simple phrase that perhaps helped convince me to eventually pursue a journalism career. I also knew him as a colleague at COSY, where he was funny, impish and, naturally, an instinctive and knowledgeable mentor. The town has lost a good one.
