My heart and thoughts are with the family. Mr.Smith was a great man.I enjoyed working with him as his assistant during jr.high. He was the only one who called me Jolene, and it didn't bother me. RIP Mr.Smith.

Gary was a class act in so many ways. The ultimate giver, he shied from the limelight. Positive personality influenced everyone he met. It was an honor to have known him. My prayers for his entire family.

Dear Nancy and family please accept my most sincere condolences on Gary's passing. My first memories of Gary was the tall, skinny junior high math teacher wearing a green corduroy suit in command of his classroom. He always had my respect. He will be missed by many.

Condolences to Gary's family. He was an early influence on me as I started my teaching career acting as a boss, mentor and more importantly, a friend. He was "The Sultan of Swat." RIP Coach

Mark and extended family. Coach has always been coach to me. Since being on his Freshman basketball and then track team it was a pleasure interacting with him. Coach could inspire and motivate through a unique way with humor. As I grew older he was there to talk with and share time with over a cup of coffee. He was a friend that you could count on. He will be missed.

Gary was my friend during my time at Palisades. I called him Gary Smith Smith, I don’t remember why but it was an ongoing joke between the two of us. He was a generous individual, proud of his accomplishments and full of love for just about everybody. I saw him downtown, identifiable by his silver mane. He was a very special individual with a dulcet voice and an amiable smile. I loved him.

Condolences to Gary's family. Knew that man for most of my life. He was friends with my late father, as well as being my 8th grade math teacher. Worked with him at Palisades for many years, seems like we always had some interesting conversations to say the least. He will missed.
